Directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Hannibal‘s Mads Mikkelsen and Forest Whitaker, Rogue One is due out December 16, 2016. That movie, which precedes Star Wars: A New Hope in the franchise’s line, will focus on the mission to steal the plans for the Death Star, which sparked the action of the 1977 film.
The Star Wars saga will continue in 2016 with an anthology film titled Rogue One.
