The drummer teaches in his basement/band room, so there are FOUR drum sets, including a nice Roland electronic set. Oh, and the band room is an awesome place. Everyone (including the drummer!) is really cool, and during my little detox episode last week (I finally ditched the opiates after over five years) every one of them checked up on me every day to see how I was doing. This new band is a total joy to work with. It's all still very much in the experimental phase, but I'm pretty sure I'll use it live. I was contemplating getting the line 6 pod interface or the apogee jam, but decided to save a few bucks.

The only one that does not work is the line 6 pod app. I had tried the other apps (amplitube, ampkit, pocket amp, I shred live) and they all work with the jam up plug. I'm going to do some tweaking, and maybe try some string patches in Alchemy next time. Great interface and the jam up app is terrific. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller. It was really just goofing around but the band liked it and said it really filled up the song nicely. What is Audiobus Audiobus Chain effects output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output between apps drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard or sync with your external MIDI gear.
#Jam up vs ampkit Patch
I wasn't sure what patch would work best so I used the one I had been playing with at home. I used the "Big AHH" patch in Sunrizer, which I edited to match the volume to what I needed. Hope this helps anyone else considering a purchase! IPad music production going to another level here!! I have all the gear I need and loads of pedals but the sonic port may come into play live if I do an acoustic gig through pa at some point. The ampkit hd does have that charging feature and ability to port into a desktop but for my purposes I can transfer files via emails if I can't achieve results I want on the iPad! So my advice as a first instrument bassist is if you are contemplating an iOS port of any kind that the sonic port is the cheapest out there and after messing around lives up to all that I want. Buy Peavey AmpKit LiNK - iPhone, iPod touch, iPad Interface for Guitar/Bass/Line Source featuring Interface for AmpKit (iPhone App), Headphone or PA Output.
#Jam up vs ampkit professional
I found a close replica of my tone and without latency! Recording the bass into cubasis now will produce a professional sound now. The bass was slightly off and then I tried the Ampeg model in ampkit with its 8x10 swapped mics around and mic positions. I was initially a little bit disappointed with the quality and latency while using a guitar on ampkit presets.
